Vice President, Artificial Intelligence Software Engineering Working remotely anywhere in the United States What will I be responsible for in this job? As the Vice President of AI Software Engineering, you will work in partnership with the AI leadership team to build our Healthcare financial and clinical document management AI services platform and solutions. You will lead a team of software engineers specialized in AI services platform building and working with Data Scientists for AI solutions and applications building. You will get to work with top notch AI Product and AI Engineering peers to provide in depth engineering know-how and execute with quality and speed to support Change Healthcare's business and our customers, successfully build the scalable performing AI services platform and solutions and applications for healthcare financial management. Primary Duties/Responsibility 1: Work with AI team leaders, product, peer engineering teams, build the vision, strategy, and technical roadmap of AI platform and AI solutions and applications to drive major impact to our business. Integrate the AI Services platform with existing and evolving data platforms (20%) Primary Duties/Responsibility 2: Build the state of art AI services platform, continuously adopting the latest large community backed opensource functional components and with customization to support Healthcare AI solutions. Engage directly on all aspects of building the platform - including infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Networking), data ingestion (batch and streaming), ETL, AI libraries, inference engine, offline training pipeline, orchestration, operation and optimization (20%) Primary Duties/Responsibility 3: Ensure engineering design are guided by high performance, scalability, security, following the strict healthcare policy compliance, with low cost. (20%) Primary Duties/Responsibility 4: Innovate to build the healthcare financial management AI Services platform, including Conversational AI Platform and providing services for internal solutions and external customers. Improve existing products and work with BUs, Product, sales and marketing to enable and drive market adoption. (20%) Primary Duties/Responsibility 5: Participate as a member of the AI leadership team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately, and the organization's resources are used responsibly. Define and track key success metrics for the AI Services platforms and AI applications. Work with management to prioritize business and AI platform needs. (20%) You will be responsible for providing regular business reviews in collaboration with the SVP, AI and other senior executives which include the CEO as well as the CFO, EVP Enterprise Technology, and BU presidents. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing materials for the SVP, AI, to present to the company's Board and Leadership. It is important that you are on point in partnership with the SVP, AI, to help establish the AI strategy and technology roadmap aligned to meeting established program objectives and revenue targets. You will identify the key engineering and tooling technology priorities to deliver expected revenue and help scale our organization for future growth. You work closely with our Business Units to help implement AI solutions that drive both forecasted savings and revenues. You are empowered to create and build the strategy, systems, and talent needed to achieve these objectives. Your primary responsibility is to create innovative, high ROI products and embedded solutions using artificial intelligence through the development of sophisticated coding driven by data science modeling as well as do so in cloud environments. You will have authority and autonomy to make decisions related to the strategy and execution of the AI Engineering team. You will consult the SVP, AI, on broader decisions impacting overall AI and the business of Change Healthcare. Experience with AWS Storage/Compute/DB, Kubernetes, Spark, Docker, Flint, Kafka, Kubeflow, TF Serving, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Spark MLib, Scikit-learn, Apache MXNet, Jupyter, Splunk, Grafana, Cloud Watch, etc. Excellent communication skills: ability to translate robust analytics and metrics into simple to understand takeaways, and present findings to management and business partners A great collaborator who can work across operating styles and can bring together multiple perspectives, able to handle conflicts with best interests of company and customers in mind. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with an open, honest, and direct communication style that develops rapport and credibility across the organization and promotes ideas and proposals persuasively Develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders. Builds executable plans for migration of technologies to support necessary future directions. Participates in local and national user group presentations and publishes articles describing AI platform activities and assessments of technology and how it relates to the business. What are the requirements? BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or closely related software engineering field. Excellent track record (15 years) of product development and engineering including the delivery of AI platform and solution products, including core AI platform, conversational AI platform, Natural Language Processing, Predictive Intelligence and Optimization, and AI solutions for eCommerce. Extensive hands-on experience (10 years) in building software and AI platform/solutions, able to translate business requirements into clean/logical design and architecture, strong skills in coding, design and code review, sprint management, DevOps; able to deliver under pressure. 10 years of experience in people leadership, with experience leading and managing complex teams/organizations Experience in healthcare and financial payment systems and solutions development is a plus How much should I expect to travel?Some travel may be required for meetings.
