About the Job

Synthesis AI is looking for a VP of AI. As an executive team member, you will drive overall research programs and lead the machine learning team. You will also be responsible for driving academic research collaborations, building an AI advisory board, and being a key company representative with customers, investors, partners, and the AI community.

The team you lead will pioneer new techniques for synthetic data generation, neural rendering, and mixed (real+synthetic) training. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the computer graphics and software engineering teams to solve some of the most complex challenges in computer vision by bridging the gap between the real world and photorealistic simulations.

The impact you will have:

  • Build and lead a world-class research organization
  • Foster an ecosystem of collaborators and evangelize synthetic data to the AI community
  • Lead the creation of novel approaches for synthetic data generation at the intersection of computer graphics, neural rendering, and generative neural networks.
  • Drive research programs to develop techniques to 'bridge the domain gap' and enable mixed (real+synthetic) model training
  • Publish academic papers & white papers to further the synthetic data field

What we look for:

  • At least 5 years of experience leading world-class computer vision and ML teams
  • Experience in domain and label adaptation techniques applied to computer vision models
  • Deep understanding of generative models (e.g. GANs, VAE, diffusion) and neural rendering approaches (e.g. NeRF)
  • Experience with 3D morphable models and computer graphics rendering pipelines
  • Great presentation skills and demonstrated ability to engage partners, investors, and customers
  • Ph.D. in AI/ML/CV with an excellent track record of scientific research and publications

Our benefits:

  • Health insurance coverage for employees, including vision, dental, and family coverage
  • Extended vacation time
  • Parental leave
  • Competitive salary
  • Equity
  • Remote flexibility

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly align with the job description. Team members who love to learn and collaborate in an inclusive environment will flourish here.
