Description

Minimum qualifications:

* J.D., an equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.

* 10 years of attorney-level experience in a law firm or a in-house legal department.

* Experience advising on machine learning technology or artificial intelligence (AI).

* Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

* Ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once.

* Ability to manage high volumes of requests and to take on legal issues in the field of artificial intelligence.

* Excellent organizational and communication skills.

As Senior Product Counsel, You will work with Product Managers, engineers, and researchers on Google's Research and Machine Intelligence teams. In this role, you will be expected to advise on legal issues including privacy, copyright, licensing, and others.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $238,000-$351,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with the United States and international laws and regulations dealing with privacy, intellectual property, and competition.
* Provide solution-oriented legal advice to teams from engineering, product management, and business development from the initial stages of product research and development to launch and beyond.
* Partner with leadership on product strategy in legal areas.
