As the Director of Applied AI Research Lab, you will lead a team of AI researchers and developers. After joining our team, you will work with the global team to define and deliver innovative AI solutions for the physical security industry. This position is based in our new cloud software R&D Innovation Center located in the San Jose, CA.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and self-driven individual who has a mix of both broad product strategy as well as the ability to deep-dive into business, usability, and architectural challenges that customers face today. From a depth perspective, you should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to dig into the research and definition of AI features, deeply understanding the problem space and driving strategic and architectural decisions for the future success of our products. You will have opportunity to influence the direction of our potential solutions. Responsibilities

• Hiring best talents, lead and support applied AI research team at Innovation Center

• Develop the innovative AI algorithm to deploy the world best AI next generation product for the security industry

• Develop AI algorithm such as re-identification and object tracking and extract insight for AI cloud surveillance system

• Develop deep learning based image enhancement algorithm: low light enhancement, noise reduction, super-resolution for CCTV camera

• Develop the vertical AI solution for social secure: gun/weapon detection, fighting detection, smoke & fire detection, abnormal behavior detection

• Optimize AI model to develop innovative AI algorithm based on transfer/meta/few shot learning,

• Collaborate with the global research teams: college AI labs, AI start-ups, big-techs

• Support AI lab Korea team to make AI edge device: AI CCTV camera, AI NVR, AI VMS

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Ph.D or Master, computer vision related.

• 5 to 10 years of AI companies (big tech, start-up) experience

• Computer vision (based video analytics, AI-driven analytics) experience

• Demonstrated history of leading organizations by recruiting, developing and retaining top talents
