TECH LEAD - ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

As the Artificial Intelligence Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for helping your team members with the technical aspects of their jobs, such as data management and analytics. You may also explain new projects to their team and troubleshoot any problems that occur. This position reports directly to one of DefenseStorm's Engineering Managers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders across the company to identify high ROI opportunities for the application of AI and machine learning solutions.

  • Serve as a technical leader for the AI team, guiding them through the complexities of AI development and deployment.

  • Mentor and support other members of the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining robust ML infrastructure that supports the development and production deployment of AI models.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and formulate practical AI solutions to address them.

  • Ensure that AI systems are built and maintained responsibly, ethically, and without bias.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the software industry, ideally with growth-stage startups, building and deploying ML products.

  • Master's degree or above in a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proven leadership in managing a technical team, with a strong focus on mentorship.

  • Hands-on experience and proficiency in Machine/Deep Learning using frameworks including Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, and PyTorch.

  • Practical experience with deploying and scaling machine learning systems.

  • A working understanding of statistical methods and deep learning techniques, with an emphasis on practical implementation.

  • Strong software development skills with a focus on building robust, scalable systems.

  • Experience working with unstructured or irregularly-structured data.

  • Experience building data pipelines.

  • Experience using data orchestrators like Airflow and Dagster

  • Ability to translate complex problems into practical solutions and communicate these effectively.
