Department Summary:

The Center for Securing the Homeland (CSH) Cyber Analytics Department (P742) is seeking an experienced artificial intelligence engineer who will join a team of data scientists, analysts and engineers supporting MITRE's sponsors. The explosion of data and complexity of problems facing DHS requires an innovative approach which MITRE is leading through the application of new technology and techniques. As an artificial intelligence engineer, you will work on real world problems related to cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, immigration, disaster response, maritime awareness, and many others.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Perform data wrangling, analyze large and diverse datasets and demonstrate expertise with at least one modern programming language such as Python, R, Java or Scala

+ Demonstrate skills related to machine learning and artificial intelligence to potentially include assessment of model effectiveness, predictive analytics, explainability and bias

+ Prepare comprehensive written reports, presentations, and charts based on research, collection, and analysis of data

Required Qualifications:

+ Experience with data manipulation and analyzing datasets

+ Expertise with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java or Scala

+ Experience with ML/AI

+ Applicants selected for this position must be eligible for security clearances, will be subject to a government security investigation, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

+ Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Prior experience working in a customer facing environment

+ Prior experience working on government projects

+ Prior experience leading tasks

+ Prior experience leading teams

+ Prior experience applying AI/ML, data science, data engineering or data analytics

+ Proven experience with one or more of the following: computational linguistics, computer vision, or natural language processing

+ Experience with cloud-based environments such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure

+ Experience visualizing multi-dimensional data using tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Kibana, neo4j, ggplot2, Plotly, matplotlib, or D3.js.

+ Experience with databases technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Neo4j)

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$107,500 - $134,500 - $161,500 Annual
