What Business Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health

Business Analysis is responsible for deeply understanding the business in multiple functional areas and across Business Units, as well as understanding the application landscape and capabilities. They maintain relationships with the business and leverage requirements engineering practices and methods to enable improved business processes to drive business success. They align business strategies and capability needs into business and technical requirements to ensure IT systems enable the desired value.

  • Knows and executes best practices for business analysis processes and functions (from an industry and strategic standpoint), including requirements elicitation methods. Knows emerging trends.
  • Defines requirements in accordance with SDP/SDLC, management and project/product scope. Ensures problem statements and objectives are clearly defined. Ensures requirements are aligned to project scope, objectives and strategies.
  • Leads elicitation sessions using variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, business models with executives, managers, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Mediates across different IT teams utilizing knowledge of IT and roles and responsibilities within the organization.
  • Focuses on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills


Cardinal Health EIT has identified “Augmented Intelligence” as a key strategic initiative.   We are seeking an experienced leader to join our augIntel enablement team, serving role of Sr. Consultant. Key high-level responsibilities for augIntel enablement team include:

  • Harvest new use/business cases for Automation, AI & Analytics
  • Conduct “art of the possible” and “ideation” sessions with business leaders
  • Process Analysis / Opportunity Assessment and create Roadmap for execution
  • Build Opportunity Pipeline & Manage Opportunity Lifecycle
  • Idea Incubation and Design Thinking
  • Portfolio Management and sharing timely updates to sr. leadership
  • Tracking ZBM commitment of business units as results of automation
  • Lead and drive strategy engagements with vendors for large enterprise transformations
  • Create and publish marketing material for augIntel 


  • Ability to explore, evangelize, and influence automation opportunities across business functions, processes, and senior leaders.
  • Process Analysis / Opportunity Assessment 
  • Experience in building business cases
  • Experience in portfolio/ program management 
  • Present automation capabilities to business leaders 
  • Demonstrate RPA, AI, ML products and value to the business 
  • Participate in Gemba Walks, Job Shadowing and Process Assessments with business SMEs – with a focus on harvesting automation use cases
  • Document As-Is processes and conceptualize To-Be process with Automation
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Own governance and reporting dashboards 
  • Manage and update Jira Boards
  • Mindset to drive efficiencies by removing friction and continuous improvement through current state process, technology, and people.
  • Experience with LEAN OpEx principals is a plus
  • Ability to influence and sell vision and ideas to associates at all levels across the enterprise.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of latest technologies and trends specific to Automation and AI.
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as needed.
  • “Can do” attitude and capable of overcoming difficult challenges.
  • Self-motivated, takes Self-Initiative with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills 
  • Travel may be required (domestic) once or twice per month.
  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 8+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
